A traditional village in the Orfeas municipality which was probably named after the sandy soil or the mulberry trees in the area. There are many monuments or archeological and historical interest in the region such as the Temple of Artemis Vendinos, the church of Agios Dimitrios, the monastery of Metamorfoseos Sotiros and the Monastery of Agios Georgios.
The village of Feres is 28 northeast of Alexandroupolis. It is a mixture of traditions from all the different races that coexist in the area and make it a rich and colorful community. A traditional village known for its wetland habitat and Monastery of Panagia Kosmosotira.
The town is built on a hill near the river Erythropotamos and the ruins of the roman town of Platonipolis. Didmoticho (twin walls) was named after its double walls. It is worth visiting the Folklore Museum and the Castle of Pythiou east of the town.
Soufli is located northeast of Alexandroupolis approx 70km from the capital of the Evros Prefecture. It is built on the east side of the Profiti Ilias hill. The village of Souflis is known for its silk production and itâ€™s so called cocoon-houses which are a combination of houses and silkworm breeding chambers.
